les meslaines is the name of the parcel of pinot noir that produces this blanc de noirs. it has richness, a ripe character with fresh apricot flavors, a champagne that has the weight of a wine. it could do with bottle age, but for freshness drink now.

this affordably priced pinot noir is part of the winery's popular evolution series. it's smooth and forward, with pretty red fruit supported by juicy orange flavor. it has the tannin and stuffing to work well with roast poultry or as a stand-alone fireside sipping wine.

enormous in jammy apricot, peach, pineapple, asian spice and sweet charred oak vanillins, this burgundy-inspired chard is a little sweet. but it provides enough acidity for balanced structure.

the showy nose on this wine, which is bolstered by 5% malbec, is both fruit-forward and extremely floral, with plum blossoms, cola and blueberry juice. the palate is densely layered and firmly structured, with flavors of caramel, vanilla, anise-laced blueberry pie and minty herbs. drink 2017–2025.

the spicy aromas resemble black pepper and anise. fruit flavors are ripe and delicious, and the creamy texture seems to melt in the mouth. this wine offers lots of personality and very good balance.

while this is piercing, aggressive and herbal on the nose, there's enough rustic authenticity, licorice and cherry character to push it along. a raw palate offers oak-based flavors of vanilla and coconut but also tart plum and currant. a wiry, shearing finish tastes oaky and feels hard.
